Letters to you, and what I'm learning

What do you want them to know about who you are — not just as their parent?

Why this question

The person underneath the role. The things you hope they come to know about you.

Capturing it in voice

  • ·Don't script it. The ums, the tangents, the half-finished sentences — that's what their voice actually sounds like right now.
  • ·Thirty seconds is plenty. A short answer you actually record beats a long one you keep meaning to.
  • ·Say the date and their age out loud at the start. In ten years that one detail will do half the work.

What's been the hardest part of this season of parenting for you personally?

What would you say to another parent going through exactly what you're going through?

What's one small thing you did this week that was enough?

Want to keep the answer in their voice?

One day you’ll want to hear this answer, not just read it. Ask the question tonight and record what comes back — thirty seconds at the foot of the bed is enough.
